When Microsoft said that it would have 10 million Xbox 360s sold by the end of 2006 some people were skeptical, but now the skeptics have been silenced. Today the mega-corporation announced that it had not only met its goal, but surpassed it. When 2006 wrapped up 10.4 million Xbox 360 consoles were sold worldwide. Xbox Live is also proving to be a success. Microsoft's online gaming service now has 5 million subscribers. More than 100 million pieces of high definition content have been downloaded from XBL, and more than 20 million games have been downloaded from Xbox Live Arcade. Microsoft is optimistic about the coming year. It expects to have 13-15 million Xbox 360s shipped by the end of the fiscal year of 2007. Looks like this generation's console war is going to be a hot one
