For the record, I have zero direct knowledge here, but if I'm guessing, I'm seeing de-graining, sharpening and a delicate overlay of what some may see as grain, but appears to be a very light noise pattern.
It works.
John Lowry had a quite extraordinary process toward upscaling, which may be part of this situation. His process, without going "plastic," was able to add real detail and dimensionality. I'm wondering if that process, now at Reliance, may be at the fore here.
My bottom line is that regardless of what digital processes have been used, the final imagery has not gone "plastic." Some shots may be on the verge but don't go there. And without pixel peeping, the release sets certain standards which I believe apply to THIS film, but not to the majority of others.
Pues genial
