TLDR: finally allowed to say that the show I’m working on is The Nevers for @HBO and it’s not out until next year and I already can’t wait for you lot to see it holy shit it’s going to be so epic hey cosplayers you’re welcome hey fandom you’re welcome. Hold onto your bustles.

-@PennyRed OMG- amazing! are you actually in the same writers room as Joss Whedon?
-Yes, he’s my boss!
Joss Whedon's THE NEVERS to start shooting in June for HBO
HBO Boss Casey Bloys Gives Us a Status Update on Joss Whedon’s ‘The Nevers’
TCA 2019: Programming chief tells TheWrap the “Buffy” creator is writing — and it’s “very exciting”
Calling all Whedonverse fans, we have a status update on your leader’s next big project
TheWrap asked HBO programming chief Casey Bloys on Friday during the Television Critics Association press tour where the premium cable network is with the upcoming Joss Whedon sci-fi drama series, “The Nevers,” which was first announced last July.
And here is what he had to say: “We just started. [Joss] has been writing. It’s very exciting. He’s great to work with. We’ve just started talking about names, starting auditions, things like that. So we’re just starting.”
“The Nevers” is described as an epic science fiction drama about a gang of Victorian women who find themselves with unusual abilities, relentless enemies, and are on a mission that might change the world.
Whedon will serve as writer, showrunner and executive producer, the first TV series he will helm since Fox’s short-lived “Dollhouse” in 2009-2010.
“We have long been fans of the incredibly talented and prolific Joss Whedon and we can’t think of a better project than ‘The Nevers’ with which to welcome him to the HBO family,” Bloys said in a statement when the series was ordered. “We look forward to meeting the strange, multifaceted characters of ‘The Nevers,’ to learn their stories, see them in action and share them with our viewers. We’re honored that Joss chose HBO as the place to build his ambitious new world and we are excited to get started.”
“I honestly couldn’t be more excited,” Whedon added. “‘The Nevers’ is maybe the most ambitious narrative I’ve created, and I can’t imagine a better home for it than HBO. Not only are they the masters of cinematic long-form, but their instant understanding of my odd, intimate epic was as emotional as it was incisive. It’s been too long since I created an entirely new fictional world, and the HBO team offer not just scope and experience, not just ‘prestige,’ but a passionate collaboration. I could go on, but – I’m impatiently grateful to say – I have work to do.”
On the small screen, Whedon is most known for helming “Buffy the Vampire Slayer,” its spinoff “Angel” and “Firefly.” He was also among the major creative forces for Marvel’s big screen Cinematic Universe, directing both “The Avengers” and its sequel, “Avengers: Age of Ultron.” He also helped the MCU expand to television, directing the pilot for ABC’s “Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.”
Whedon is currently helming “The Nevers” for HBO and has a female detective comedy series in the works at Freeform. He is also executive producing the “Buffy” reboot, which will be written by “Midnight, Texas” creator Monica Owusu-Breen.
EXCLUSIVE: JOSS WHEDON’S HBO SERIES ‘THE NEVERS’ ADDS PRODUCTION DESIGNER GEMMA JACKSON (‘GAME OF THRONES’)

Melissa is a science fiction writer and graduate of the National Film and Television school. She won an Academy Nicholl Fellowship in 2014 with a script that would appear on the Brit List the same year and in 2016 she became a Screen Daily Star of Tomorrow. She has participated in writer's rooms for Charlie Brooker's Black Mirror, a spin-off of the hit Canadian TV show Orphan Black and a new Tokyo-set crime thriller created by Torleif Hoppe, co-writer of The Killing.

Punto.

Lau is a graduate of the Columbia University's MFA Film Program where he received the coveted Faculty Select prize - the highest honor bestowed upon a feature-length screenplay. (cuenta fan The Nevers en Facebook).

“Well, I wish I was that important,” Caulfield said when I reached her in England, where she’s working on Joss Whedon’s new series, “The Nevers,” for HBO. “But obviously it takes a major team to put it together.”
Jordan Peele’s ‘Lovecraft Country,’ Joss Whedon’s ‘The Nevers’ to Begin Filming This Summer
What do Jordan Peele and Joss Whedon have in common? Both prolific producers have ambitious HBO series that will soon be going into production.
TheWrap spoke with Casey Bloys, the pay-TV channel’s programming chief, on Friday about the status of the “Us” director’s “Lovecraft Country” and the “Buffy the Vampire Slayer” creator’s “The Nevers,” two projects eagerly anticipated by fans of the Peeleverse and Whedonverse, respectively.
And lucky for both camps, those series are about to start filming.
“[Whedon] has been furiously writing the scripts,” Bloys assured us, regarding “The Nevers.” “He’s been writing, he has a staff, and we’re shooting this summer.”
Bloys couldn’t give us an exact production-start date, “but it’s sometime this summer in London.”
“The Nevers” is described as an epic science fiction drama about a gang of Victorian women who find themselves with unusual abilities, relentless enemies, and are on a mission that might change the world. Whedon will serve as writer, showrunner, director and executive producer on the show, marking the first TV series he’s helmed since Fox’s short-lived “Dollhouse” in 2009-2010.
Primera noticia de reparto: Laura Donnelly
https://scontent-mad1-1.xx.fbcdn.net...af&oe=5D2B7B26
Joss Whedon's HBO Series 'The Nevers' Casts 'Outlander' Actress as Lead
Laura Donnelly will play a lead role in the drama about a group of Victorian women with extraordinary abilities.
Outlander actress Laura Donnelly has taken a lead role in Joss Whedon's sci-fi series at HBO.
Donnelly will star in The Nevers, a drama about a group of Victorian-era women "who find themselves with unusual abilities, relentless enemies and a mission that might change the world," per HBO's logline.
Whedon (Buffy the Vampire Slayer, The Avengers) is co-writing the straight-to-series project with Buffy veterans Jane Espenson and Doug Petrie and will also serve as showrunner and director.
Donnelly will play Amalia True, described as the most reckless, impulsive, emotionally damaged hero of her time. A menace to stuffy Victorian society, she would die for the cause and kill for a drink.
"Laura Donnelly has charisma, wisdom and an anarchic precision that not only captures Amalia, but defines her," said Whedon. "She's fierce and she’s funny — and I need both for the journey ahead."
The Nevers landed at HBO in 2018 after a multiple-outlet bidding war. It's the first TV series Whedon will showrun since Fox's Dollhouse a decade ago (he's an executive producer of ABC's Agents of SHIELD but not directly involved). At the time of its pickup, Whedon called it "maybe the most ambitious narrative I've created."
Donnelly has recurred on Outlander as Jenny Fraser, Jamie's (Sam Heughan) sister. Her credits also include Tolkien, The Fall and ABC's Missing. She is repped by Jonathan Arun in the U.K., CAA and attorney Shelby Weiser.
The Nevers doesn't yet have a premiere date. It's part of an upcoming HBO slate that includes Veep creator Armando Iannucci's space comedy Avenue 5, Los Espookys, The Righteous Gemstones, Perry Mason, Mrs. Fletcher and Run, along with a pilot for a Game of Thrones prequel. The channel is under orders from corporate parent WarnerMedia to increase its output of scripted originals and is opening up a second night of originals Mondays with Gentleman Jack.
Deadline first reported Donnelly's casting.
Whedon (Buffy the Vampire Slayer, The Avengers) is co-writing the straight-to-series project with Buffy veterans Jane Espenson and Doug Petrie and will also serve as showrunner and director.

I think you’ll be pleased.
Veremos!
-Production Manager: Lisa Byrne
-Primer asistente de director: Matthew Penry-Davey
-Storyboards: John Colebourn

Olivia Williams will play Lavinia Bidlow, a wealthy spinster and champion of the “Touched,” who funds the Orphanage (where Amalia and many of the Touched live) through her vast family fortune. She is stern and old-fashioned, but as strong-willed and clever as anyone she confronts.
https://secure.i.telegraph.co.uk/mul...y_2554019b.jpg
James Norton will play Hugo Swann, a pansexual posh boy whose charm has about five years left on its lease. He runs a secret club and a side trade in blackmail. He’s devoted to fulfilling everyone’s worst impression of him and is fascinated by the Touched.
https://pbs.twimg.com/profile_images...4/4lly4pG4.jpg
Tom Riley will play Augustus “Augie” Bidlow, a sweet, disarming nerd and Lavinia’s younger brother. A keen ornithologist, Augie is happy to let his older sister take the reins of the family fortune. He finds the Touched unnerving, but is drawn to them by his increasing infatuation with Miss Adair, and by the schemes of his nefarious best friend, Hugo.
https://m.media-amazon.com/images/M/...zNjA@._V1_.jpg
Ann Skelly will play Penance Adair, Amalia’s dearest friend and one of the first women to join her cause. A devout — yet heretically progressive — Irish girl, Penance has genius for invention. She is delighted by her power, and her default is love and acceptance. But she’s firm in her moral sense, and will be guided by what’s right over what’s expedient every time.
https://i2.wp.com/metro.co.uk/wp-con...44%2C427&ssl=1
Ben Chaplin will play Detective Frank Mundi, a big, gruff, and deeply moral man who trusts no one, least of all himself. His reputation for sudden violence (and excessive drink) is not unwarranted. Frank finds himself caught between the powerful, who ignore the laws of the land, and newly empowered, who ignore the laws of physics.
https://res.cloudinary.com/solt/imag...idvddxwgny.jpg
Pip Torrens will play Lord Massen, who is staunch, unflappable and merciless in his defense of the British Empire, this former General, now Peer, may be the only man who sees clearly what havoc these few strange people can wreak upon the established order. Which he will protect, one way or another.
https://www.tvovermind.com/wp-conten...ns-640x329.jpg
Zackary Momoh will play Doctor Horatio Cousens, one of the few successful West Indian physicians in London. Married with a young son, Horatio’s fortunes took a dark turn when he met Amalia and discovered his own ability. Now he works with her, and with the Beggar King, those who don’t care who is or isn’t “different.”
https://i1.wp.com/thehedonistmagazin...50%2C700&ssl=1
Amy Manson will play Maladie, who is committed by her husband (and genuinely unstable), and has been warped by a power she can’t understand, and tortured by doctors intent on finding its source. She now lives underground, runs a gang and is on an infamous murder spree. She affects a theatrical parody of a bedlam waif, but mad as she is, she’s a woman with a purpose.
https://vignette.wikia.nocookie.net/...20170408064329
Nick Frost will play Declan Orrun, aka The Beggar King, who is charismatic and brutal. Declan runs, or has a piece of, most of the low-level criminal activity in the city. He’s perfectly happy to help Amalia and her cause – and equally happy to sell them out. He backs winners, and the Touched are long odds.
http://marrieddivorce.com/uploads/images/nick-frost.jpg
Rochelle Neil will play Annie Carbey, aka Bonfire. Annie is a career criminal who landed the ability to control fire and is happy to hire it out. Came up rough, stayed that way, but she’s neither impulsive nor cruel – just looking out for herself. No matter who she works with or for, Annie trusts only Annie, and the fire.
https://m.media-amazon.com/images/M/...6,1000_AL_.jpg
Eleanor Tomlinson will play Mary Brighton, a gentle but surprisingly resilient woman who pursued her dream of singing on stage. A disappointing career and a broken engagement haven’t diminished her spirit. She’s going to be great. She’s going to be very surprised how.
https://www.countylifestyleandleisur...k-series-4.jpg
Denis O’Hare will play Dr. Edmund Hague, a gifted American surgeon. He uses his skills in the coldest, most brutal way possible. But it’s all in the name of progress!
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/p...s_jdl_4619.jpg
Justo venía a ponerlo aquí.
:rubor
Seis anuncios más de casting!
‘The Nevers’: Joss Whedon’s HBO Sci-Fi Drama Series Adds 6 To Cast
https://pmcdeadline2.files.wordpress...1&h=383&crop=1
Kiran Sonia Sawar (Pure, Brexit: The Uncivil War), Elizabeth Berrington (In Bruges, Naked) Ella Smith (Ray & Liz, Kill Your Friends), Viola Prettejohn (Counterpart, The Witcher) Anna Devlin (All the Money in the World, Hanna) are set as series regulars and Martyn Ford (The Intergalactic Adventures of Max Cloud, The Marine: Close Quarters) will recur in The Nevers’ HBO’s straight-to-series drama from the Buffy the Vampire Slayer creator and The Avengers writer-director Joss Whedon.
Co-written by Whedon and Buffy alums Jane Espenson and Doug Petrie and directed by Whedon, The Nevers is an epic science fiction drama about a gang of Victorian women who find themselves with unusual abilities, relentless enemies, and a mission that might change the world.
The six actors join lead Laura Donnelly along with previously cast Olivia Williams, James Norton, Tom Riley, Ann Skelly, Ben Chaplin, Pip Torrens, Zackary Momoh, Amy Manson, Nick Frost, Rochelle Neil, Eleanor Tomlinson and Denis O’Hare.
Sawar will play Harriet Kaur. A young Scottish Sikh, Harriet lives with the Orphans, but is accepted by both her family and her betrothed. Optimistic without being naive, Harriet is determined to live her life as she planned, despite its increasing weirdness.
Berrington is Lucy Best. Dirt poor, adaptive, streetwise. There’s nothing delicate about Lucy, though she’s given up thieving to live with the Orphans. Her quick-wit and high spirits mask the pain of a tragic past.
Smith will portray Desirée Blodgett. A whore, and an increasingly popular one: her power makes men tell her everything on their minds, and they come away relieved in more than one sense. Unfortunately, what she’s heard may get her killed, even though she honestly doesn’t listen to most of it. She’s devoted to her six year old son, who, bless him, never speaks.
Prettejohn will play Myrtle Haplisch. A middle-class girl rescued from a family who cannot understand her – literally, as she can no longer speak English, or anything resembling speech. She’s thrilled to be living at the orphanage, where she’s everyone’s favorite weird little mascot.
Devlin is Primrose Chattoway. All 16-year-old Primrose wants is to be a proper, ordinary girl, and not take up too much space. Which, at ten feet tall, is hard. Most everything is either dreamy, unfair, or too embarrassing to live through.
Ford will play Nicolas Perbal, aka Odium – The quintessential henchman. He looks as unpleasant as he smells – a side-effect if his rather surprising “turn”. Will do any kind of work for anybody’s money.
Whedon, who serves as showrunner and also directs, executive produces with Espenson, Petrie and Bernie Caulfield.
Sawar and Berrington are repped by United Agents. Smith is represented by Wishlab and Gersh in the U.S. and Independent Talent Group in the UK. Prettejohn is repped by Waring and McKenna. Devlin is repped by Olivia Bell. Ford is repped by The BWH Agency in the UK.
Fue editora en Buffy, Angel, Firefly, Serenity Dr Horrible, The Cabin in the Woods, Avengers y Age of Ultron. Y, claro, está, The Nevers.
