Entrevista con Gemma Jackson, diseñadora de producción, y quien se encargó de ello en las primeras temporadas de Game of Thrones. Dice que es fan de Joss Whedon. O no existe memo de HBO o simplemente algunos actores (como Amy Manson, Ann Skelly y Laura Donnelly) se la suda un poco más y se ven capaces de hablar de él sin miedo a represalias. No sé.

“I think what drew me was a remarkably interesting script and an extraordinary storyline that I’d never read the likes of before,” says Jackson from her home in England during a Zoom interview. “It was predominantly women—women-led—which was a bit of a turn-on. I was an admirer of Joss from, you know, all sorts of things. It just got to me on some level. It was irresistible, actually.”

Seamus McGarvey, ASC on HBO’s The Nevers, Flying Saucer Rock ‘n’ Roll, Bad Times at the El Royale, Harry Dean Stanton, Oliver Stone and more
The Nevers was Seamus’ first extensive experience working on a television series. He had only shot TV episodes here and there, such as “Nosedive,” a favorite episode of Black Mirror, starring Bryce Dallas Howard. For Seamus, shooting a television series was a much faster production schedule and made him think with economy. The Nevers creator Joss Whedon wanted the show to have a contemporary edge, but set in Victorian times, about people known as “The Touched” who suddenly develop supernatural, superhero-like abilities. Fortunately, they had a long preproduction prep time for the action-packed series, which made for a close-knit, collaborative and well-prepared crew. Seamus also worked closely with the second unit, who shot the numerous stunts in The Nevers. He was also able to use some old-school camera tricks for Primrose, a character who’s a giant. Seamus had to double the actor’s actual height with forced perspective, used a slightly slow-motion camera, and the aid of some special effects, making sure that the lighting stayed consistent between the normal-sized shots and the giant shots.

no han cancelado la serie, ha finalizado la 1º parte de la 1º temporada y en nada empiezan a rodar ( o ya han empezado) la 2º parte de la serie.

Por cierto que no me di cuenta, es decir, sí, pero no, que hubo cambio de productora logística (la encargada de todo el tema no creativo, vaya) del piloto a los episodios 2-6. De Bernadette Cauldfield a Ilene S. Landress.
Cuidao: de la productora jefe de Game of Thrones a la de Sopranos. HBO se ha tomado esto en serio

Habrá, mínimo, 6 episodios más hasta completar la 1a temporada. Vuelven al rodaje dentro de unas semanas en Londres bajo el mando de la nueva showrunner.

A mi me ha pasado lo mismo, menudo Shock me he llevado...mi sorpresa ha sido muy agradable, siempre me ha encantado Claudia, y aquí para variar vuelve a estar fantástica... lo mejor del episodio número 6, aunque a mi me ha parecido todo una pasada, vamos como una película, y la parte victoriana cuando se ve a la protagonista de panadera me ha encantado también, mucho mejor este último capítulo que los primeros 5, para mi gusto, claro.

Desconocía que fuese a continuar... veremos.

The art of composing modern scores is the having the skill set to keep motifs alive while being relevant. But too many times, newer composers have no idea what fully developed themes are because they grew up on scores that are nothing more than ostinatos and “buahs.”

A mi me gustó mucho. Es muy diferente y a la vez similar a lo que ha hecho hasta ahora. Puedes ver perfectamente esos 6 episodios. Whedon estuvo hasta el último día de esa primera tanda y queda todo preparado para la 2a mitad pero sin dejarte a medias. Y además el 6o episodio es el mayor WTF que he visto en años en TV
Han rodado los episodios 7-12 desde julio hasta diciembre.
Ahora a ver si renuevan por una segunda temporada.
Whedon y su mujer estuvieron de vuelta por Inglaterra en Londres y se vio con varios de los actores con los que hicieron amistad.

Vuelven a estar en Londres (hace ya unas cuantas semanas) y hoy mismo han cenado con las dos protagonistas de The Nevers. Parece que la amistad perdura.
(y hace nada con cierto showrunner de Doctor Who).

Según la app tv time los días 15 y 16 emitirán en Tubi en USA los episodios del 7 al 12.
En imdb no aparece nada, así que no se la fiabilidad de esto, pero por si a alguien le interesa lo dejo por aquí...
