For many years FRED OLEN RAY has been writing, producing and directing money-making feature films of every kind and nature. Considered an expert in bringing in profitable films on time and on budget he has become, as VARIETY described him, "a Fantasy Specialist".

In recent years Fred has directed a wide range of pictures from the comedy hit MOB BOSS with Morgan Fairchild and William Hickey, which had LBS's third highest viewer rating on its national television premiere, to the recent hit INNER SANCTUM starring Tanya Roberts and Margaux Hemingway. When released on video by Columbia Tri-Star INNER SANCTUM rose to VARIETY's Top 50 Chart and remained there for 12 consecutive weeks. At one point becoming the #1 most rented video in America, the recipient of a Gold Cassette and inspiring a wave of imitators.

Fred has been featured prominently on such TV programs as ENTERTAINMENT TONIGHT, HARD COPY, STEPHEN KING'S WORLD OF HORROR, CNN's SHOW BIZ TODAY, THE PHIL DONAHUE SHOW, JOE BOB BRIGG'S DRIVE IN THEATER and was the subject of a half-hour British television series episode hosted by Jonathan Ross called THE INCREDIBLY STRANGE FILM SHOW.

Fred has currently authored a hardback book in stores now from McFarland & Co. entitled THE NEW POVERTY ROW, which outlines the hazards and pitfalls of the independent producer operating in the world marketplace from the 1950's till now. He is also the author of ROGER CORMAN'S BRAVE NEW WORLD and has written for several national publications including THE TWILIGHT ZONE, WEIRD TALES, STRANGE MAGAZINE and has edited an original anthology, WEIRD MENACE, and is himself the subject of numerous magazine articles and interviews, most recently in ENTERTAINMENT WEEKLY and NEWSWEEK.

Fred's movie INVISIBLE MOM, starring Dee Wallace Stone, recently won the Finalist Award for Best Comedy Feature at the Santa Clarita International Film Festival.

Currently Fred has completed THE SHOOTER, a western starring Michael Dudikoff and Randy Travis and the martial arts actioner INFERNO starring Don "The Dragon" Wilson for Ashok Amritraj which was filmed entirely on location in India.
