Eso me recuerda un tema y es el de las felicitaciones de los directores a sus colegas cuando estos les superan en un record. En el caso del #1 histórico en taquilla norteamericana, la tradición la empieza Steven Spielberg cuando Star Wars superó, en 1977, a Tiburón como película más taquillera de todos los tiempos (307 millones vs 260 millones). Cuando en 1982/1983 E.T. superó a Star Wars (359 millones vs 322 millones) Lucas publicó una felicitación pero no la encuentro! En 1997, gracias al re-estreno de SW, esta superó a E.T. (460 millones vs 399 millones) y Spielberg publicó esto (es la de la derecha, claro):

Éxitazo de Paranormal Activity 3, que se colocará en 2 o 3 semanas como la más taquillera de la saga superando a la primera entrega.
Modesto éxito de Real Steel, que acabará con unos 85 millones sobre un presupuesto de 110. En el extranjero va camino de 150-175, para hacer 250m globales. No está mal.
Fría entrada de Puss in Boots, yo esperaba en torno a 50m pero se quedará en 35m. Debería acabar con 125-150 en Usa y, como es de costumbre, el mercado internacional la salvará, como demuestra la taquilla que está haciendo en Rusia.
Yo esperaba unos 37 millones, pero no llegará ni a 35 durante este fin de semana. A lo mejor si lo consigue tras sobrepasar Halloween.
La recaudación de Puss in Boots en efecto es bastante baja, más teniendo en cuenta que no tenía mucha competencia esta semana y que el personaje venía de una saga de éxito y ya era conocido por el público. Este es un síntoma más de que el universo Shrek está agotado en Estados Unidos pero aún así la recaudación ha sido muy floja teniendo en cuenta el número de salas, el presupuesto, el bombo que le han dado y la escasez de producto infantil o familiar en la cartelera americana.
En todo caso parece que ha gustado a nivel de crítica y posiblemente generará buenos comentarios que maquillarán su recaudación doméstica pero de todos modos esta va a ser baja pase lo que pase.
Según leo en la ficha de la peli en Imdb, este spin of estaba planeado para dvd. Al estilo de Toy Story 2, pero aquella le salió mucho mejor la jugada.
