Quote:
That's right, ladies and gentlemen, it's that time of the week again. Time for some more Superman rumors fresh off the rumor mill. As you may recall, not too long ago, Mark Millar was willing to lay down a thousand big ones in defense of his assertion that Jim Caviezel has been cast as the Man of Steel. More recently, Ain't It Cool News shot back with a story about a visit Bryan Singer, Dan Harris and Michael Dougherty paid to some NYU film students where this alleged casting came up. In it, the scooper mentions that Singer said he wanted to go with an unknown for Superman and since Caviezel is known, he wouldn't be cast. The scooper also mentions that the storyline would be closer in tone to the original Superman films. For more on that, go here. Prompted by this flurry of rumors, IGN Film Force did a little scooping of their own and reported that Singer has met with a Scottish actor named Sam Heughan for the part. Check out the full article here. Finally, Superhero Hype recently put up a little blurb regarding the storyline, mentioning that this new one "will basically pick up where SUPERMAN 2 left off…he hinted that even Terrence Stamp, who played General Zod so terrifyingly well in the first two SUPERMAN films, "figures" into this new SUPERMAN film…" For the rest of that blurb, go here. Will General Zod actually be in the next SUPERMAN? Will Sam Heughan turn out to be Superman or, in a sick twist, will Caviezel be the one to don the red and blue tights? Will the mystery surrounding the wand of Kilratha be revealed? (huh?) Stay tuned next time for another exciting installment of SUPERMAN rumors!
