¡Se me olvidaba! Nuevo spot de televisión.

Y otra cámara lenta que acecha desde los tráilers. La de esa especie de ametralladora, donde se utiliza el típico efecto videoclipero de frenazo del movimiento de la imagen...
Espero que todo eso, como lo de la bala de otro spot sea cosa de los trailers y no de la peli, porque joder no le pega nada y no me lo esperaba de Singer...

Primera mini-review:

Superman fans - he's back. This film delivers on all fronts. We all know that the action is through the roof, but the big question on everyone's mind is the acting, so let's start with the Man of Steel himself. Brandon Routh is my Superman. I really think he was fantastic in this film, and he was particularly strong in his Superman scenes with Kate Bosworth's Lois Lane. There's something very interesting going on in Brandon's performance. He's not simply cloning what Reeve gave us two decades ago, but he is exuding the same sort of aura that Reeve did back then. The best way that I can describe it is to say that these two are cut from the same cloth.

Kate Bosworth's performance as Lois was just as I expected - she brought a depth and vulnerability to Lois Lane that was a compelling undercurrent to the hard-nosed, almost over-confident Lois Lane from the Daily Planet press room. And rounding out the Superman trifecta, Kevin Spacey delivered a sadistic, vengeful, remorseless Lex Luthor that evokes nearly every previous incarnation of the character in some form or another, and then takes them all one villainous step further. A couple of hours after watching the film, and really internalizing who Luthor was in this movie, I'm inclined to think the setup might be there to deliver the audience a Luthor in future films the likes of which we've never specifically seen before in any medium.

The rest of the cast all came through just as strong. James Marsden turned in a superheroic performance of his own as the man who rescued Lois Lane's heart, and Sam Huntington is the Jimmy Olsen I've been wanting to see for years. There are plenty of homages to the many incarnations of Superman that have come before, and there's even more new additions to push Superman's story further along - a strong move, considering how easy it would have been to turn in a script with a relatively stagnant storyline.

Bryan Singer has delivered a Superman film that sets a strong foundation for the future of the character. This isn't really just another Superman film. This is a strong character film that is about Superman... about a God finding his place among mortals. It's a Superman that knows when to have fun, and when to take itself seriously, and hits all the right notes along the way.

I have to admit, as I grow older, my interest in big summer blockbusters has waned, but there are some exceptions and, naturally, most of those are the comics-based films. My anticipation for the film "Superman Returns" was off the charts, which concerned me - was there any chance this movie could live up to my expectations? Well, CBR News was invited to a screening of the film Thursday night and I can say with total confidence that it was everything a comics fan - and movie fan - could hope for.

Yes, it's that good.

With superhero adaptations to film, one crucial element is often missing: heart. That's not the case with this movie. The story -- which you can read more about here on CBR in the coming weeks -- is founded wholly on that most solid yet intangible emotional core of all the great Superman tales. Credit this to director Bryan Singer, who, as he did with the first two installments of the X-Men feature franchise, demonstrated his unmatched skill in bringing to the surface the human sides of some decidedly inhuman characters. Despite the fact that Superman is an alien, Earth's Kryptonian protector seems at times more human than ever in this most impressive film.

Supporting Singer's tireless work, of course, is his controversial cast. I can say to you now with full conviction that every actor in "Superman Returns" hit their marks perfectly. Kevin Spacey, who once won an Academy Award® under Singer's direction in the neo-classic, "The Usual Suspects," will surprise no one with his scene-stealing turn as the maniacal Lex Luthor. Brandon Routh turns in a performance that at many times plays as an homage to Christopher Reeve's legendary portrayal of Superman while managing to prove scene-after-scene that he now owns the role. Kate Bosworth as Lois Lane is the biggest surprise. I was worried her young age and appearance didn't suit the role of one of if not the most sophisticated supporting characters in comics history, but the actress pulls it off with a convincing maturity and grace. Special note is due, I think, to Sam Huntington for his portrayal of Jimmy Olsen. Not just a loser to be kicked around by the demonstrative Perry White (although that certainly does happen), Huntington's Olsen is remarkably natural and fun.

To say "Superman Returns" contains high-flying action may be the greatest understatement since, well, "You will believe a man can fly." Breathtaking. Exhilarating. Truly awesome. These are just some words to describe the super-feats of "Superman Returns." You're left clamoring; clawing at your seats for more and more, thinking, "the next movie can't come quickly enough." And believe me, it can't. Still weeks away from official release, you will find no spoilers here, but let's just say message boards all over the internet will be aflame with debate. Web servers may actually catch on fire. Putting it bluntly: nothing can prepare you for the things you will see in this film. Look for a more extensive review and analysis of the film later this month right here on CBR.

Yo ahí no veo el espacio... yo veo hielo.

Compara el fondo con éste. Yo también me planteé que fuera hielo, pero es que los fondos son igualitos, ¿no crees?

Es que la peña es muy vaga y pasan de estar buscando imágenes en gugleimagenes. De todas maneras es un puñetero cartel, en plan iconoclasta, no creo que me estén diciendo que Lois esté respirando en el espacio o que esté muerta o que Superman le esté haciendo un dedaco por debajo de la capa.

On the night of Thursday, June 8th I attended a special press screening (and IMAX 3D preview) of "Superman Returns".

Producer Chris Lee told us he came directly from Technicolor and we were technically the first audience to see the film.

A far more in-depth review will be coming in the future, but for now here's what I can tell you.

This movie is far greater than I could have ever anticipated, and I went in with extremely high expectations.

The effects, of course, do not disappoint. Several of the sequences are vying for the "most amazing thing I've seen on screen... EVER" and I've yet to decide which one tops the others.

But I didn't see many people questioning the effects, so on to larger issues. I am brimming with things I want to tell you. To reassure you about. To make you realize that this is really the Superman movie we've all been waiting before. But without details that will be hard to do. But perhaps my enthusiasm for what I've seen is coming through in this. At least, I hope it is.

James Marsden? Made me care for a character I had no real reason to. Parker Posey? Steals all her scenes. Eva Marie Saint? Touching and amazing. Frank Langella? A truly fantastic Perry. Sam Huntington? Best Jimmy EVER. Kevin Spacey? Easily the most sinister Lex to ever be seen on screen. A delight to watch. Kate Bosworth? Remarkably deep, tough and opinionated, just as Lois should be.

Brandon Routh?

There is no longer any doubt.

Brandon Routh IS Superman.

Routh and Bosworth have fantastic chemistry. Honestly, not a single performance was anything less than fantastic.

And the story? Well, that's what everyone wants to know, and the thing I can tell you the least about.

I still feel it inside me, honestly. It touched me. It's brilliant.

I hope this somehow does it justice, but I fear that I does not.

I have been moved.

I wish I could tell you more. I really do. I want to grab each and every one of you and make you understand how vital it is that you see this film. But perhaps my enthusiasm for what I've seen comes through in this.

At least, I hope it does.

Pues como están poniendo la película ¿no?. Yo le tengo unas ganas terribles, una de las películas más esperadas por mí de siempre, hasta incluso voy a ir a un estreno, que no voy desde que se estrenó "Batman", sí, la primera, con eso lo digo todo...

Que nervios, que emoción, que espectáculo, que impresionante, que grande...

¿2 secuelas? O sea, 2 de Singer y en la tercera se ira a hacer la primera pelicula de "sandman" (por poner un ejemplo) y la 3ª de "superman" la hara Rattner...

¡Ganas de oírla entera, oiga!

Vaya, yo creía que Superman era un personaje de ficción. Pobre chaval como quiera hacer carrera en ésto del cine...

Dicho sea de paso, la secuencia del avión me parece bastante buena.

En este tipo de películas, lo mejor suele ser la parte de desarrollo de personajes y que muchas veces es justamente lo que menos desarrollan.

Al principio pensaba que la nueva de Superman iba a ser una cagada, pero cada vez estoy más convencido de que va a quedar una película bastante interesante.

No. En este tipo de peliculas lo mas interesante es ver superpoderes. En X-Men y X-men 2 (la 3 no la he visto) yo queria ver mas Ciclope, (y digo Ciclope porque este personaje no es mas que un simple cameo), queria mas rayo optico, pero no... tenia que haber lucimiento de Lobezno y Tormenta.

En Spiderman, yo quiero ver al Hombre Araña balancearse y trepar, pero no, ademas apenas hay peleas.

En Superman quiero ver como el Hombre de Acero vuela, rescata aviones, zurra a los malos, "apatrulla" la ciudad, etc...

Bueno, es lo más interesante...para tí. Yo prefiero exactamente lo contrario. Los fuegos artificiales son eso... Lo que a mí me perdura con el paso de los años son otras cosas, que para mí Spiderman tiene y Superman de Donner a mansalva.

Lo demás está muy bien, pero sin un buen sustento dramático de tratamiento de personajes, en mi opinión, la película se convierte en un kleenex: usar y tirar.

Y que conste que para mi Spiderman (y con el permiso de Superman) es la mejor adaptacion.

Y X-Men, como bien se apunto, es una presentacion cojonuda de personajes.

Discrepo completamente.

Una película con solo efectos especiales al final termina no siendo ni película. Los efectos especiales deben estar al servicio de la película y no al reves.

no se que edad teneis pero a mi antes me pasaba igual que a vosotros, solo queria ver efectos especiales a saco. Con la edad, he aprendido que una película no se sustenta solo en efectos especiales y necesita una buena base.
