Send Me A Lullaby (1982); Before Hollywood (1983); Spring Hill Fair (1984); Liberty Belle and the Black Diamond Express (1986); Tallulah (1987); 16 Lovers Lane (1988); The Friends of Rachel Worth (2000): Bright Yellow Bright Orange (2003); Oceans Apart (2005)
Bye Bye Pride
A white moon appears
Like a hole in the sky,
The mangroves go quiet.
In la brisa de la palma
A teenage rasputin
Takes the sting from a gin,
When a woman learns to walk
She’s not dependent anymore
A line front her letter may 24
And out on the bay
The current is strong
A boat can go lost.
But I didn’t know someone
Could be so lonesome
Didn’t know a heart
Could be tied up
And held for ransom.
Until you take your shoes
And go outside, stride over stride.
Walk to that tide because
The door is open wide.
Turned the fan off
And went for a walk
By the lights down on shield street.
The birds in the trees
Open their wings ...
He goes home again.
He dreams resistance,
They talk commitment,
Things change over long distance.
Took the shirt off his back
The eyes from his head
And left him for dead.
But I didn’t know someone
Could be so lonesome
Didn’t know a heart
Could be tied up
And held for ransom.
Until you take your shoes
And go outside, stride over stride,
Walk to that tide because
The door is open wide.
Little lies, they’ll take your pride.
Until you take your shoes
And go outside. stride over stride,
Walk to that tide because
The door is open wide.
Stride over stride
Walk to that tide.
Bye, bye pride.
Because the door is open wide.
The door is always open wide.
The door is always open wide.
Right Here

It rains for days
So you stay inside
And lock your door.
Crying all the time
Crying for ...
You don’t know what for.
You say your’re undone by his kiss,
But don’t you think
That for once in your life
It should be like this?
Your hands are tired,
Your eyes are blue.
I’m keeping you right here.
Whatever I have is yours
And it’s right here.
Climb aboard my pony
Now you’ve been thrown.
Get back in the saddle
And let it be known
That you’re made of steel.
Don’t you think that
For once in your life
He should be made to feel?
Your hands are tired,
Your eyes are blue.
I’m keeping you right here.
Whatever I have is yours
And it’s right here.
I know you’re 32
But you look 55.
You walk around
With your eyes wide open
But you’re barely alive.
You say you’ve lost your touch
But don’t you think
That for once in your life
He could walk without a crutch?
Your hands are tired,
Your eyes are blue.
I’m keeping you right here.
Whatever I have is yours
And it’s right here.
Dive For Your Memory
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3s3Il5pmPXI
If the cliffs were any closer,
If the water wasn’t so bad.
I’d dive for your memory
On the rocks and the sand.
I’d dive for you
Like a bird I’d descend
Deep down I’m lonely
And I miss my friend.
So when I hear you saying,
That we stood no chance,
I’ll dive for your memory
We stood that chance.
We stood side by side,
Strong and true.
Just wish you’d remember,
Bad times don’t get you through.
So when I hear you saying,
That we stood no chance,
I’ll dive for your memory
We stood that chance.
Now, I dive black waters
The waters of her dream.
Are black and forgetful
I’d like to make them clean.
So when I hear you saying,
That we stood no chance,
I’ll dive for your memory
We stood that chance.
So when I hear you saying,
That we stood no chance,
I’ll dive for your memory
We stood that chance.
