La vuelta de meshuggah¡¡¡¡¡¡¡
Revolver magazine reported in January that MESHUGGAH is returning on its next album to the pummeling double bass drums and angular riffage that defined their early material to sculpt what they say will be their most savage, eclectic offering yet. "We've got some fast, intense songs and hectic, heavy stuff that draws from all the things we've done in the past," said drummer Tomas Haake. "It's so great to actually be playing drums again."
The band members started writing last August and are said to be working on more than a dozen new tunes. The goal is to finish by March, in time for a May release. To some extent, the tone of the music was motivated by the four months MESHUGGAH spent last year rerecording guitars for the Halloween re-release of their 2002 album, "Nothing". "It was great to revisit that super-heavy stuff," Haake told Revolver. "While we were doing it, we found new ways of playing guitar that give the music a really scary tone. That's going to make this record sound more brutal."

Link en .wax ¿?According to Black-Sabbath.com, the new BLACK SABBATH track "The Devil Cried" will be released in digital form to the public via all digital retailers on Tuesday, March 13. The song was written and produced by guitarist Tony Iommi and singer Ronnie James Dio and was recorded with bassist Geezer Butler and drummer Vinny Appice in November 2006 in the U.K. The cut was engineered and mixed by Mike Exeter, who worked on Iommi's "Fused" and "The 1996 DEP Sessions".
"The Devil Cried" is the first single off the group's forthcoming "best-of" collection, "Black Sabbath: The Dio Years". The first comprehensive introduction to the band's legacy features a dozen classic studio recordings, plus one live track — "Children Of The Sea" from 1982's "Live Evil". The collection also contains the three brand-new tracks — the aforementioned "The Devil Cried", plus "Shadow Of The Wind", and "Ear In The Wall". The disc will be available April 3 at all physical retail outlets and at www.rhino.com for a suggested list price of $18.98. The album will also be available at all digital retail outlets for a suggested retail price of $11.99. Check out the cover artwork at this location.
Arranged chronologically, the compilation spotlights singer Ronnie James Dio's time with BLACK SABBATH and draws heavily from the lineup's 1980 debut and 1981 follow-up, "Heaven and Hell" and "Mob Rules" respectively. Recognized as back-to-back metal classics, the albums feature such signature songs as the title tracks, "Neon Knights", "Die Young", "Turn Up The Night" and "Voodoo". "The Dio Years" also features "After All (The Dead)", "TV Crimes" and "I" from the singer's brief reunion with SABBATH for the "Dehumanizer" album and tour.

KORN tentatively plans to release its eighth studio album on July 17, according to an interview with the band that ran on a Los Angeles radio station yesterday morning (Tuesday, March 6). The group has been recording the disc with temporary drummer Terry Bozzio and guitarist James "Munky" Shaffer told us that Bozzio has taken KORN's music in a new direction. "It's a little less straightforward, I think, than what we're used to, and it's a lot more technical," he said. "I think it's probably more like a progressive KORN that people are gonna be used to. Very heavy though."
Bozzio is considered one of rock's greatest living drummers and is best known for his work with FRANK ZAPPA and MISSING PERSONS. He is filling in for founding KORN drummer David Silveria, who's taking a "hiatus" from the group this year.

"I mentioned it to Greg [Tribbett, MUDVAYNE; guitar] and he immediately wanted in, and when Vinnie came on board the whole thing just took on a life of its own. This was a must-do project for all of us."
"The guys from HELLYEAH and the incredible music we've created have brought me back to what I love," states Vinnie. "'Hellyeah' is the best record I've collaborated on since [PANTERA's] 'Vulgar Display of Power'. The vibe is 'positive with a kick-your-ass-attitude.' I can't wait to take this band on tour."

Saludos.
