Tema: Prometheus (Ridley Scott, 2012)

Yo miré los vuelos y no estaban mal de precio.

La única duda que tengo es el miedo a perderme alguna frase en inglés.

Pues parece que es verdad que adelantan una semanita el estreno. Incluso lo anuncian en el site oficial: Prometheus - Site Oficial | 20th Century Fox

Pues como comentan aquí Fox adelanta el estreno de 'Prometheus' en España, pero sólo una semana Noticias cine - eCartelera "La situación con 'Prometheus' roza la burla al espectador"

Solo una semana cuando tenían que ser dos meses, menudo cachondeo...
Me estoy pensando seriamente irme a Portugal a ver la peli, allí la estrenan el Junio, y en V.O.

Y Fox sigue, en dicha página también sale esto:"Fox continúa con su buena racha atrasando el estreno de 'Abraham Lincoln: Cazador de vampiros', previsto inicialmente para el 20 de julio. La nueva fecha es el próximo 31 de agosto (el lanzamiento en Estados Unidos será el 22 de junio), una incomprensible estrategia"

Entrevista a Idris elba.





Even having worked with Ridley before, was it exciting to get a call that he wanted to do another ALIEN movie?
Idris Elba (IE): Definitely. I love working with Ridley and his return to a genre that everyone wants to see him in is exciting. It feels really great to be a part of it.

How did he describe it to you?
He called me and said he’d like me to get involved in the film and he sent me the script. We got on the phone and talked about what his ideas were for the character and it was really pretty straightforward. He was definitely really excited and pumped about doing this film, and I could tell that.

Was it still an ALIEN prequel then?
IE: The word ALIEN never came up, and it hasn’t really. The only time he’s ever sort of compared it was just in terms of describing that the DNA of the ALIEN film is definitely imprinted in this film. That was evident from the script, but we didn’t really talk about that film at all. That’s been done, but this is something different. That was his point of view, that we were doing something different.

Ridley’s made two of the most important sci-fi films of all time. Is there an added sense of responsibility on your part, on top of just working with Ridley, to help him deliver a third?
IE: There’s always a responsibility to make sure you show up and make sure that the character you’re playing is completely brought to life. I don’t think you can take responsibility in terms of the hierarchy of film. Maybe for him, perhaps, but I doubt even that. Looking at it that way is much more for the people who enjoy the films than the people that make them. Our responsibility is to make a good film and be as artistic and as courageous as you can be. And Ridley’s certainly one of the most courageous filmmakers ever. We know that from his history. But he never lets it dictate what he does next, and it doesn’t inform us as actors about what we do. But I definitely feel the fans are expecting a lot, and I want to please the fans, I don’t want to let them down. But I never want to let them down, no matter what I do.

Janek seems to be a little quieter than some of the crew. What did you make of him?
IE: He is an engineer. He works on these huge vessels that do long-haul space trips. He’s the captain of Prometheus and there isn’t much to him. He’s like a longshoreman. There’s no real mystery with him, I don’t think, and why would there be? His job is pretty straightforward. He has a character and personality that will reveal itself in the film. But his purpose on that ship is to fly it and to get it from point A to point B. He’s not really involved in the politics that ensues in the film.

So he’s there for the paycheque?
IE: There’s an interest because what happens on that ship affects everyone on it, but yeah essentially his job is to get everyone there. It’s a mission and he’s basically the eyes of that vehicle. Things happen that do affect everybody in one way or another and as the man that has to deal with the ship, he has certain responsibilities to uphold and fulfil. I had a fantastic time playing him and it didn’t need to be complex, but it was so enjoyable. It’s neither a big part nor a small part, it’s just a great part. It’s a part that I think plays a very important role in the film.

Did you find yourself engaging with the film’s themes?
IE: I guess we all, somehow in our head, wonder who would we become or what would we do if our very existence as human beings were to be challenged. How would we deal with that? That’s definitely part of the DNA of all Ridley’s films. He looks at human existence and how we cope and extreme and sometimes bizarre situations. I think with this film it’s no different. For me, it’s definitely an examination of what Captain Janek has to go through, where his morals lie and what he should do. I’ve never flown a spaceship, and never even been on board of one, but during this experience I got to really understand that if I were out there in that world, flying around in a machine, and something as extreme as what happens to these people were to occur, what I would do. It’s really fascinating and engaging for me as an actor. I guess the writers really had a great time exploring those possibilities and I had a great time playing them.

Does it add an extra layer to have that personal interest in those notions?
IE: I guess Ridley likes to work with actors and rely on their instincts, regardless of what’s on the page. He really feeds off instinct, and his take on most actors he enjoys watching is different. What that does is it allows him in the edit room to continue creating. Everyone’s different and everyone’s different every single day. Today I’m looking for a parking spot, I’ve finally found one and I’ve got no coins on me. I’m not that pissed off, but on any other day I might be really angry about that. That’s two different takes right there. In the edit suite, every director’s dream is that he can still create his story and build.

The sets are incredible – stepping onto that bridge set, it can’t have been hard to play a space captain.
IE: Definitely. It makes it easy to bring ourselves to life. Every detail is taken care of and so much of it worked. I couldn’t fly a spaceship to save my life, but because of the detail involved I’m sat there in front of this console that actually works. You press this button and something happens, that button and something else happens… And the thing about Ridley is he knows everything about the ship. He’s designed it in his head and that’s what makes him so special.

He estado hablando con los de cineworld, y dicen que suelen tener version subtitulada prevista para una o dos semanas despues del estreno. Así que si no te importa esperarte a ese momento... En concreto llamé a cineworld de Crawley, cerca del aeropuerto de Gatwick. Alli tienen sala imax recién construida a finales de 2011, y real3D. Además si lo que quieres es ir, ver la peli y volverte es lo más económico, ya que el cine esta al lado del aeropuerto y hay linea directa en bus.

Aunque se ve claramente pero bueno, Spaces= Hologramas, incluido el que está sentado en la silla y no le vemos, pero en el video se ve su mano moverse hacia abajo.

Todavía es muy pronto para dar información más o menos fiable, pero en la sala de ediciones ya tenemos hilo abierto para Blu-ray y Blu-ray 3D de Prometheus

Channel 4 is set to run a tailored TV spot that uses viewers' tweets in a live broadcast ad for the first time, for Ridley Scott's new film 'Prometheus'.

Channel 4 is airing the world premiere of the trailer of Ridley Scott's 'Prometheus' in the first break of 'Homeland' on Sunday (29 April) as part of activity devised by Vizeum.

It will be followed by showing fans Twitter responses in a bespoke ad in the next break.

The film marks a return to the sci-fi genre for the director of 'Alien' and 'Blade Runner'.

The trailer will be broadcast at around 9.10pm. Viewers will be asked to share their thoughts about the film on Twitter using the hashtag #areyouseeingthis.

A selection of tweets will be broadcast during a special 40-second spot in the next ad break.

A spokeswoman for Channel 4 said the second ad break will mark the first time viewers tweets have been shown in a live broadcast ad.

The trailer was made by 20th Century Fox's creative department. A wider marketing campaign, including TV, will kick off closer to the film’s release on 1 June 2012.

Eray Galip, creative solutions manager, Vizeum said: "'Prometheus' is the most anticipated film of the summer. This activity fits perfectly with our strategy in terms of amplifying the anticipation and conversation that has already started."

The drama series 'Homeland' stars Claire Danes as a CIA agent and Damian Lewis as a US Marine. It attracted an average audience of 2.30 million last Sunday, according to unofficial overnights.

Angus Mitchell, agency principle, Channel 4, said: "As part of our strategy to champion innovative and impactful marketing solutions, we are delighted to be partnering with 20th Century Fox.

"We think the fit between the film, director and Channel 4 is just perfect

Como molan las nuevas imágenes. Visualmente es un espectáculo y mejor aún en 1080p, que gracias a los chicos de AVPGalaxy, se puede descargar este nuevo video New Prometheus Featurette - AvPGalaxy Tenéis que pulsar donde pone here in Hd. Aquí no me deja colgar el enlace directamente.

Y volviendo un poco al tema del baile de fechas de estrenos. Pues en cinéfilo en la página de estrenos para 2012 Cartelera de estrenos – Estrenos de cine, críticas, películas, posters, tráilers | cinefilo.es se puede comprobar que Warner retrasa dos meses la peli de Tom Cruise Rock of Ages Rock of Ages (La era del Rock) (Adam Shankman) | Críticas, tráiler y póster inicialmente prevista para el 8 de Junio (igual que Prometheus) y esta nueva fecha coincide otra vez con Prometheus, es decir, el 3 de Agosto. Me resulta curioso este tema, ya que hace poco Batman se adelantó una semana y luego como por arte de magia Prometheus también se adelantó una semana, y ahora el retraso de dos meses de la de Tom Cruise.
Veamos tanto Batman como Rock of ages son de Warner ¿No estaremos ante una guerra entre la Fox y la Warner españolas? Porque sino este baile de fechas no es normal.

Y por cierto ¿Qué estrenos hay ahora el 8 de Junio? pues estos:

Las chicas de la sexta planta
El gran año
Project X

Vamos no es que tenga mucha competencia en esa fecha.

He estado echándole un vistazo a la revista oficial de "Alien," que se editó en diciembre del 79, y ya hablaban de una continuación, de un "Alien 2," y daban 4 posibles formas de continuar "Alien." Una de ellas dice así:

A "prequel" rather than a sequel, telling the tale of the space jockey and ending where "Alien" begins, with the arrival of the Nostromo crew.

Y 30 y pico años después, por fin, "Prometheus."

He estado enchando un vistazo y me he quedado agradablemente alucinado. Entre el nuevo material aparecen los procesadores atmosféricos de Aliens, igualitos, y el "traje mecánico" que utiliza Ripley cuando combate con la Reina Alien. También igualito. Me ha encantado encontrarme con eso y ver que no solamente hacen referencia a la primera Alien sino también a Aliens. Temía que la dejaran de lado. Maravilloso. A ver si en una de estas salen referencias también a la Nostromo y a la Sulaco. Por pedir que no quede.

Esto cada vez se pone mejor...

Aquí está la versión larga de este detrás de las cámaras. Dura 3 minutos y 21 segundos y es espectacular...lástima que está en ruso y se pasan hablando todo el rato. A ver si alguno lo encuentra en inglés. Se ven escenas nuevas, y yo creo que pertenecen al nuevo trailer que veremos en Domingo. AGGGGGGGGG qué ganas...

Se ve claramente como han construido los decorados, nada de abusar de pantallas verdes. Uf, esto unido a los diseños de Giger, la calificacion R, el metraje integro en cines, la genial publicidad viral y los testimonios de los actores... ¡Nada puede salir mal!

Ya han capao el video los de la FOX...

Es verdad, que pronto lo quitaron. Supongo que quieren ponerlo en inglés los de la Fox.

Acabo de editar y borrar el video y lo he cambiado por otro de Dailymotion.

¿Guiños a "Alien Resurrección"? Me pareció peculiar el nombre del robot, David 8, que recuerda a Ripley 8... y por si fuera poco en ese vídeo sale encestando una pelota desde larga distancia...

La palabra ESPECTACULAR se queda muy corta tras ver ese video.

Es simplemente FASCINANTE, esta película va a ser más que épica, va a ser imperecedera.
