Joker, que en algún momento fue desechada como apuesta, coge bastante impulso con su importante presencia en los BAFTA (que en los últimos años es buena medida de lo que acontece después en los Oscar) y en los premios de los productores.
Phoenix, tras además, su Globo de Oro, se reafirma como el máximo favorito al Oscar en mejor actor principal.

Por otra parte, esperaba algo más de reconocimiento británico hacia Dolor y gloria, y particularmente, a Banderas.

Ese gremio en sus premios, que en la categoría de animación no hayan nominado a la película de anime "Promare" es hasta insultante, porque ya solo el trailer desprende una imagen visualmente orgásmica.

Increíble me parece que el gremio de efectos visuales no haga ni una sola mención a Ad Astra, película cuyo punto fuerte eran los F/X. Creo que entre Gravity e Interestellar (ambas ganaron el Oscar a efectos visuales) han colmado el cupo y rechazan cualquier propuesta ambientada en el espacio.


Sobre los Bafta me parece también muy fuerte el olvido a Banderas. La carrera al Oscar al mejor actor toma impulso, hay mucha competencia y solo 5 se llevarán plaza. Un traspiés como un olvido en uno de los galardones considerados "Big four" (globos de oro, critic's choice, SAG y Bafta) puede ser decisivo.

No obstante, tener hasta ahora una carrera perfecta con nominaciones al big four no asegura una nominación al Oscar. En los últimos años se han caído valores seguros (Jake Gyllenhaal, Marion Cotillard, Tilda Swinton, Amy Adams, Daniel Bruhl, Idris Elba, Emma Thompson, Tom Hanks, y el último fue Timothée Chalamet, el año pasado por Beautiful Boy.) Creo que este año puede pasarle a Leonardo DiCaprio. ¿El motivo? Ha perdido el globo de oro ante Taron Egerton y Once upon a time...in Hollywood, tiene ya un grueso importante de nominaciones seguras, por no decir varios oscars asegurados.

Creo que Banderas, Driver y Phoenix tienen la plaza asegurada, las dos restantes están super disputadas entre Egerton (con el globo de oro ha recuperado algo de fuelle), Christian Bale (es un niño mimado por la Academia), Jonathan Pryce (sería un gustazo ver a un actor de larga trayectoria, el gorrión supremo), el ya citado DiCaprio, quizá dé la campanada Adam Sandler ()...

Ad Astra no es un prodigio en terminos de FX -muy convicentes-, pero la peli es que dejo frio a mucha gente (y con la historia que tiene la produccion)

Waititi da la sorpresa y Baumbach se cae de la lista.

De cara al Oscar yo creo que sólo habrá un cambio. ¿Todd Phillips o Baumbach sustituyendo a Waititi? Ya veremos.
