Joe es una película de ritmo lento y es ese tipo de films donde aparentemente no pasan grandes cosas (un poco el mismo estilo de Manglehorn, otra de las pelis de Gordon Green), pero Cage está muy contenido y es su interpretacion mas seria en tiempo.
