Killa (Shin Ha Kyun of Save The Green Planet!) is a bright young man with a little problem, making his life hell on earth: his tongue is too short. Every time he opens his mouth, he ends up embarrassing himself. But there's a way out! A 100 million won operation will fix all his problems, but the key is finding the money. To get the money as fast as possible, Killa becomes a, well, killer. Eaten alive by the guilt of becoming a mere mercenary, he quickly makes a decision to kill only those who truly deserve it, to rid this society of all its rotten apples. As they say, No Mercy For The Rude.
Director Park Chul Hee might be a first timer, but he has amassed a lot of experience working under directors like Lee Jang Ho and Jang Sun Woo. No Mercy For The Rude is one of the most unique debut films of recent memory, balancing Jang Jin-style comedy with action and a little drama. More than anything, the film proves once again the immense talent of Shin Ha Kyun, with a role oozing the same quirky charisma of Save The Green Planet. Also of note is an impressive supporting performance from Yoon Ji Hye (Whispering Corridors and Plum Blossom), who finally gets a chance to shine after years of bit roles.

Buena, pero no mejor que A Dirty Carnival, lo siento Shinya. Y eso que la vi seguida después de The Banquet. El último plano :mmmh

Por alusiones... Yo no dije que fuese mejor:

más que recomendable, de lo mejorcito del año coreano con "A dirty carnival"

Aunque si me lo preguntas, sí que pienso que es mucho más original y aguanta mejor un segundo visionado. Y lo del plano final...

de no ser por el estúpido epílogo, clásico inmediato y directa a la lista de Canus.

Qué ganas de recibirla ya, por lo que he visto/leido me parece que me va a gustar mucho.

A mí aún me faltan 8 por ver para opinar...

Tengo que medir más mis palabras, que a veces no me acuerdo de donde estoy...

Porque claro si las veis TODAS....pues no tendreis tiempo ni de respirar...

¿En su género y de éste año en korea, ninguna supera para vosotros a "A Dirty Carnival" ?

Las que faltan por estrenarse saldrán en dvd ya en 2007, aunque sólo THE WAR OF FLOWER me da buena espina, y esta NO MERCY... la considero más mezcla de comedia, noir y acción, así que yo sí que te digo ya que, para mi gusto, A DIRTY CARNIVAL ha sido la mejor en su género del año. En realidad, las únicas comprables que añadiría son PRINCESS AURORA (estirando un poco el año), BLOODY TIES y ratitos de THE CUSTOMER IS ALWAYS RIGHT, THE CITY OF VIOLENCE y LES FORMIDABLES. Directamente olvidables RUNNING WILD, THREE FELLAS y PUZZLE.

Tengo curiosidad por saber qué 8 te faltan por ver, Doctor, porque creo que no me dejo ninguna y me salen 10 en total.

Me refería a la última hornada en general -los tres últimos meses...- para valorar lo mejor del año. Me refería a eso y no a las "noir" en particular. A lo mejor es que no me expliqué bien... me suele pasar.
