Titanfall: Respawn addresses misgivings about Xbox One alpha

Technical test represents a "small bit of the final game"

Outraged that you didn't get in on this weekend's Titanfall alpha test? Untwist your knickers. Respawn is mindful that players would like to try out a public (or at least more widely available) beta, according to community manager Abbie Heppe, and hasn't "ruled it out". The developer would also like to remind you that any naughty leaked footage you may have laid eyes on isn't representative of the final game.

"I know there is a lot of confusion over this right now," Heppe wrote on the Respawn forums on Friday. "We ARE NOT running a beta at the moment. We're doing some very limited technical testing." Only a very small number of North American applicants have made the cut, she added, and they've been asked to sign a "comprehensive" Non-Disclosure Agreement. "We understand the desire for a Beta and we have not ruled it out but I don't have any news on it for you currently. Thank you for your understanding!"

The closed alpha (due to end tonight) appears to contain just the one map, and offers stripped-down graphics - according to programmer Rayme Vinson, the textures are 25 per cent the size of those you'll encounter in the finished game (presumably, the Xbox One and PC versions will look more or less the same). "This isn't a build indicative of final product which is why we're asking people to please refrain from posting," Heppe continued.

"We try to keep it a manageable download and we're really only looking to test some technical stuff on the servers so we make a better game for you guys. I took some heat today over 'Why only North America?' and it's because we don't need every server around the world up [because] the amount of people is limited and that isn't what we're testing...and we're located in lovely (on fire) southern California and we need to be able to play in tests.

"Thanks for being so understanding," she reiterated. "We certainly don't mean to exclude people from testing, this just isn't one we're doing openly (and random means we don't have to play favorites).

"It's a small bite of the final game cause we're testing some tech, not gameplay. I feel badly that a lot of sites posted it like anyone could sign up, which is not the case. We certainly don't want our community to feel left out. That said, I will keep you all posted about anything beta if we decide to do one!"

Thanks to the alpha, we now have some Titanfall load-out details to chew on. It appears that you can turn a Titan into a walking nuclear bomb, which is music to my ears. For more on the technology powering Titanfall, read our latest interview with Respawn's Jon Shiring.

Me quedo con estas frases:

Technical test represents a "small bit of the final game"

La prueba técnica representa una parte muy pequeña del juego final

"We ARE NOT running a beta at the moment. We're doing some very limited technical testing."
No estamos corriendo una beta por el momento. Estamos haciendo algunas limitadas pruebas técnicas.

...........the textures are 25 per cent the size of those you'll encounter in the finished game (presumably, the Xbox One and PC versions will look more or less the same).
.......... las texturas son el 25 por ciento del tamaño de los que te vas a encontrar en el juego terminado(presumiblemente, la Xbox Uno y PC se verá más o menos igual).

This isn't a build indicative of final product which is why we're asking people to please refrain from posting,"
Esta no es la built que representa el producto final, por ello es por lo que estamos preguntando a la gente que por favor se abstengan de publicar.
