Okay, so I checked out DNP. VERY IMPRESSIVE! I'd say this is the best "black" screen I have seen...and I've seen them all. They are supposed to start shipping September and I have plans to call Monday about signing on as a dealer.
They can make up to 120" diag 16:9, which is a huge advantage over the competitors. And at that size they are seamless to boot. I found out that DNP is actually a Japanese company that does a lot with printing. They are apparently huge in that market, so they have the financial backing to make this happen (not a small rinkydink company). The person I talked to (not a DNP employee either) said that they are top notch in coating and printing stuff, so they probably have any edge over other companies in making this work right.
It is truely a black screen and has a 2 gain with a decent viewing angle. I will also say again, these are not really designed for dedicated theaters....they are for high ambient light rooms. But since a large percentage of you are in that market this is a real winner. Best part, they aren't going to be too expensive. A 100" retails for about $3400, which means it will likely street in the mid $2k range ballpark. Couple this with a decent projector and you have a real good plasma killer.
Enough blabbing, onto the proof pictures!
