Along with Fantasia and Fantasia 2000, the anthology set contains a third disc that examines a segment of both movies in detail. Each segment has an introduction that has experts (including Leonard Maltin), producer Roy E. Disney, or the animators setting up the piece's history. Notes on the music and dozens of design photos are included on all the segments, although others offer more intriguing features. Abandoned animation is shown on many segments, as are a few behind-the-scenes shorts; the most intriguing are experts from Walt Disney's hosted documentaries on how his company made movies. As for the photos, they are awkwardly catalogued and only the most patient of viewers would want to look at all of them. In some segments, though, these images are entertainingly produced as a "story reel," presenting these images--rough animation, sketches, pastel paintings--with the musical accompaniment. For those looking for a more well-rounded view of the films, the two one-hour documentaries on each film's disc lay the groundwork, but none of the anthology looks at how the first film was seen through the years or gives time to anyone who wasn't gung-ho about every element of the films. There is hardly a mention of embarrassing stereotypes that were matted (and still are) out of the "Pastoral" segment, or the intriguing aspect of the film as a '60s icon for the ultimate head-trip. Disney does let their guard down to show sequences that were being readied in 1940 for future editions (including a recently restored short scored to "Clair de Lune"). Most tantalizing is a look at how the special effects were done in the original film. The guide is a scrapbook that one of the technicians kept and was discovered only in 1990. Fans can only hope a reproduction will be made available someday. --Doug Thomas.

Ayer,cuando vi la foto que pusiste en el hilo general,pensé que era una cajota,pero veo que no es así.

Ya... hubiera molado un digipak, pero... por lo menos es algo más que una simple amaray... son tres!

Completísima edición USA del dueto fantasia/fantasía 2000, con 4 discos (2 bd + 2 dvd), y una preciosa slipcover, con brillitos tan intensos que si le acercas un poco el flash salen fotos como la segunda que he puesto:

Padre, alguna diferencia sustancial con la británica? me pillé el pack con las dos en un estuchito de cartón, parecido al de USA, pero no miré mucho más.

Pues ya lo ha comentado practicamente todo Padre.

La UK solo lleva los 2 BDs, uno por pelicula, mientras que la USA es una edicion combo, BD+DVD por pelicula (si mal no recuerdo los DVDs no aportan contenido a los BDs).
Y a nivel de presentacion pues ya se ve en las fotos, la funda USA es bastante mejor que la UK que es mate y carece de los brillos de la americana. Otra diferencia a nivel de presentacion es que la UK lleva dos amarays, una por pelicula, mientras que en la USA los 4 discos van en una sola amaray. Esto puede ser cuestion de gustos, pero yo prefiero una caja por pelicula, en esto me gusta mas la UK. Ademas las caratulas individuales del pack UK estan bien.

La USA aunque ponga en la caratula solo "region A" funciona en reproductores europeos, y no se como ira el tema de los subtitulos en los extras. En la UK todo esta en castellano, ya que es la misma edicion que se va a poner a la venta en España.

Para ilustrar el tema tomo prestadas una foto del pack UK (la pegatina de la PS3 se quita) del forero John Williams, espero que no te importe:

Gracias joanbik, esa edición de uk es la que tengo, pero no me había puesto a repasar tanto las diferencias... muchas gracias. Luego mirare, pues me parece que tenía relieve mi funda de la UK y brillaba un poco... pero puede que ahora esté confundido. A la noche lo miro... gracias d enuevo

Si, la funda de la UK tiene un poquito de relieve, pero brillo no. O al menos no tanto como la USA. El pack UK tambien es el que tengo yo, mas que nada por el tema del castellano, por precio, y por la comodidad de MRW.
Por presentacion empate para mi, mejor funda la de USA, pero mejor la UK por tener una caratula/caja por peli.

Efectivamente, joanbik, también me gusta tener una caja por peli, aunque luego vengan en una funda común. Según acabo de ver en la innombrable (siempre me hace gracia citarles así, jejeje) en España será similar a la USA, con una cajita con los 4 discos dentro.

En mi caso tenía que ser la USA, ya que quiero los dvds para el crío. Las fotos no hacen justicia al cartoncito americano que en vivo es una absoluta maravilla. En cuanto a los subs de los extras tengo que mirarlo, y los de la peli, al carecer de diálogos en su casi totalidad, con el latın me sobra.

Confirmado nada más llegar a casa. Efectivamente tiene relieve la UK, e incluso tiene cierto brillo típico de las fundas de Disney, pero ya tengo ganas de ver en mano la de USA para comparar. Y Padre, como no tengo chiquillos (aún) no pienso normalmente en la opción del DVD, pero me parece una sabia elección.

Solo tengo un repro de bd, pero 4 de dvd, además estas pelis se ven también en casas de amigos del crío, casa de los abuelos, colegio, etc, que solo tienen dvd.

Hola, para los churumbeles mejor la opción combo. Alguien con la edición USA puede confirmar el tema audio y subtítulos en los extras. Ya he visto que el blu es libre de región pero ¿y los DVDs? He visto en las review de Amazon q lleva Spanish pero no sé si es el original con que se estrenó en España y no veo nada referido a los extras. A ver si alguien me puede hacer el favor de comprobarlo. Gracias.

Como el disco que viene en el steelbook es muy soso, lo he cambiado por el de la edición anterior en amaray:

Sobre la primera edición de este hilo, la Anthology, pone en audios y subtítulos pendiente de comprobar.

Alguien que la tenga puede confirmar si lleva subtítulos en español, es que me interesa la edición por el disco de extras pero si no están subtítulados no la compraré.

Veo que hay ediciones en USA, Canadá y UK, espero que por lo menos una los lleve.
