Tema: Lanzamientos de "A Contracorriente"

Sin más información que vosotros, creo honestamente que, al menos a día de hoy, estáis haciendo una montaña a partir de prácticamente nada. De hecho, en la web la información de Home Video siempr fue un tanto deficiente, por no decir incompleta y a veces obsoleta.

De la entrevista que concedieron a Caimán Cuadernos de Cine hace no mucho no se intuía eso, sino el orgullo del ritmo de edición que tienen, incluyendo clásicos, y dando entonces las primeras pinceladas de lo que ha acabado siendo la edición limitada "Chaplin Esencial".

Y ya están trabajando en otra edición muy especial de otra película muy importante.

He visto que han puesto Ricardo III de Olivier en el catalogo de Amazon Prime Video y me ha dado por echar un ojo por encima. Al inicio de la reproduccion sale el logo de A Contracorriente (que tiene un acuerdo con Amazon para ofrecer sus titulos en streaming), y después pone lo siguiente:


When it premiered at London's Leicester Square Theatre in December 1955, Richard III ran 161 minutes. Subjected to cuts by both theatrical and television distributors, the film has been shown at various lengths over the years in the United Kingdom and the United States, including versions as much as twenty minutes shorter. In 2012, The Film Foundation completed an extensive digital restoration of a 158-minute cut of the film. This restoration utilized, for the first time, the original VistaVision camera negative, the original YCM separation pro-masters, and footage trimmed from the original negative, to create the longest existing version of the film. All the elements were scanned at 4K resolution at Cineric Inc., in New York, on an Oxberry wet gate scanner. The color correction was done by Sheri Eisenberg at Colorworks, in Culver City, California, using a Baselight 8 color-grading system. The soundtrack was restored from an original 35mm monaural optical track print.

Restoration funding provided by the Hollywood Foreign Press Association and The Film Foundation. Restored by The Film Foundation and Janus Films, in association with the BFI National Archive, ITV Studios Global Entertainment Ltd., the Museum of Modern Art, and Romulus Films.

Restoration supervisors: Grover Crisp, Tom Heitman.
4K mastering: Colorworks, Culver City, CA.
Digital picture restoration: MTI Film, Hollywood.
Soundtrack restoration: Chance Audio by Deluxe, Burbank, CA."


Es decir, exactamente lo mismo que pone en el libreto de la edición de criterion. Viendo la imagen se me han caido dos lagrimas. Efectivamente es el master de Criterion, el cual que yo sepa no ha sido editado en España en formato físico.

Mi pregunta es... ¿A Contracorriente tiene los derechos para editarla en físico en nuestro pais, o solo para su distribución digital?

Habría que revisar los dos comunicados sobre adquisiciones de A Contracorriente para saber si está presente en esos listados, pero es habitual para A Contracorriente adquirir los derechos de los titulos para su explotación completa, desde cines hasta TV y VOD, pasando por supuesto por formato físico.

Evidentemente eso no quiere decir que las vaya a editar, pero yo supondría, por como lleva otros títulos, que tiene los derechos tambiñen para físico de Ricardo III.
