Un prestigioso cirujano (Peter Cushing) va a una fiesta junto a su novia ,una modelo publicitaria. En la fiesta tiene una pelea con un fotógrafo y por accidente golpean una lámpara que cae sobre su mujer, desfigurándole el rostro. Pero el, decidido a devolverle su belleza experimenta con un nuevo método aplicándole inyecciones de un fluído extraído de la glándula pituitaria de una mujer fallecída. La operación tiene exito, pero solo es temporal, descubre que para que su efecto dure mas tiempo, la glándula deve ser de personas vivas, es entonces cuando se verá obligado a asesinar y dacapitar mujeres para extraerles la preciada glándula y asi mantener intacta la belleza de su novia.
