Hoy se han comentado las películas del DCEU que podrían llegar tras Aquaman (2018). Hay varios artículos, elijo uno:
Justice League Dark & Batgirl Likely to Film Next After Aquaman
Justice League Dark and Batgirl may be the next films on Warner Bros. and DC’s production schedule. The news comes just a few weeks after filming officially began on James Wan’s standalone Aquaman film, which is currently set to be the only DC film to hit theaters in 2018. Aquaman will mark the sixth installment overall in the DC Extended Universe, following Man of Steel, Batman v Superman, Suicide Squad, Wonder Woman, and Justice League, with the later set to hit theaters this November. Led by Jason Momoa’s Arthur Curry, Aquaman promises to be one of the more adventurous films from the DCEU so far.
After Aquaman though, the real shape and schedule for the DCEU has been thrown into disarray over the past few years. Following the disappointing critical response to Suicide Squad and Batman v Superman last year, WB is reported to be reconsidering its release slate for the franchise and may base its final decision in part on the performance of Justice League this fall. It appears we now know a little more about what the next release schedule should look like.
THR is reporting that, in addition to Patty Jenkins not being set to direct Wonder Woman 2 just yet, the studio is currently focusing on putting together the Justice League Dark and Batgirl films, with the hopes of having them go into production next after Aquaman. It is important to note, however, that only one of those two films has a director attached to it, with Joss Whedon set to write and direct Batgirl, and Doug Liman having stepped down from Justice League Dark recently. If this news is actually concurrent with WB’s plans, though, it’s likely that the studio is currently in the midst of finding a new filmmaker to jump onto Justice League Dark as soon as possible.
What’s interesting is just how different of a plan this is compared to what Warner Bros. had once planned. After all, at one point both The Flash and Aquaman were slated to be filming right now and set to be released in 2018. However, after losing two directors in a row over “creative differences” the fate of the Ezra Miller-led Flash film remains up in the air, and as such, so has the rest of the DCEU surprisingly. Cyborg, Green Lantern Corps., and Shazam are all in development and remain scheduled to arrive in 2019-2020 at the moment, but it’s quite plausible that too will change, over the next year or so.
At the same time, all of this news is coming after the success of Wonder Woman this past weekend, which broke records at the box office and has emerged as one of the most well-reviewed comic book films ever made. So with renewed interest in the DCEU once again, it’s hard not to think about how Warner Bros. is planning on keeping this momentum going. And seeing just how different that universe may end up looking in three years, compared to the original DCEU slate announced after Man of Steel hit theaters, could prove to be even more interesting.
