Tema: Aniquilación (Annihilation, 2018, Alex Garland)

Unas cuántas fotos del set de rodaje... Desafortunadamente no se ve claramente a las actrices (excepto quizás a Gina Rodríguez en la cuarta foto), pero sirven para hacerse una idea del look de la peli:

De todos modos se nota otra vez esos paisajes verdes que ya vimos en Ex Machina, naturaleza, y esa especie de niebla... parece que será una de las señas de identidad de Garland.

Salvo algún pequeñito traspiés, Scott Rudin no suele dar puntada sin hilo a la hora de producir proyectos. últimamente está liado con lo nuevo de Denzel Washington (director y protagonista), Fences; también con lo nuevo de Baumbach y con esta de Alex Garland.
Total, que tiene todas las de ganar este proyecto y que además, Garland va escalando posiciones de la mano de uno de los grandes de Hollywood.

Parece que el rodaje en Londres ha terminado, o al menos la parte de Gina Rodríguez:

Pues parece que el rodaje continúa, puesto que Jeff VanderMeer, el autor de la novela, ha estado visitando el set estos dos últimos días, y según sus comentarios en Facebook, ha quedado bastante impresionado por los implicados en el film:

Visited the Annihilation set today. Well, all I can say is that I'll never forget Gina Rodriguez and Tessa Thompson leaping up when I came in and giving me a big hug--or Tessa saying her whole family has read the books. Or meeting all the other cast members, who were so very nice and down to earth. Got to talk to Alex Garland, a really nice guy, about the Crawler and what he's doing with that element, and taking me through the scene they were shooting. Met the producers--same folks on 28 Days Later, Trainspotting, Ex Machina. Saw the lighthouse build and a lot of stills from scenes already shot. Can't really say more, and photos are forbidden. But it was really cool and everyone was so amazing. Just a wonderful visit, with a location shoot later in the week.

Visited a location shoot outside London today for the Annihilation movie, for scenes involving the abandoned village. I must say, it was uncanny how they'd found a place that looked like overgrown buildings in North Florida. The old mailboxes covered in lichen look just like how ours is right now--we could've brought it and saved them a prop. The producers and others were incredibly kind in showing us around, and Alex Garland let us tromp all over the set, admiring how seamlessly the builds fit in with the landscape. I was also pleased to see just how many women have key roles in the production. The final scene we watched before we left, involving Natalie Portman and Tessa Thompson, sent chills down my spine it was so good and both so poignant and so creepy. Not a scene in the book, but one very much in the spirit of the book. Then Entertainment Tonight showed up and interviewed me on the fly, which was surreal

En los comentarios el escritor confirma además las informaciones de que el film se tomará bastantes licencias con respecto al libro, tanto en personajes como situaciones, así que los que esperen una adaptación fidedigna quizá se sientan defraudados.
